You already got the kitchen table of your dreams. Now, you just have to know how to keep your glass kitchen table top sparkling clean like it was the day you bought it.
If your glass table top is framed with wood, cleaning it may not be the easy job you envisioned it to be. Wood can become dry when glass cleaning solution is used on it. Glass can get streaks from wood cleaning solution residue. You can still use your glass cleaner to keep the table top shiny, but just be careful not to touch the wood when you're cleaning. Water and vinegar solution. Some people use a solution of one part water and one part vinegar for their cleaner. Plain vinegar can be used or you can opt for distilled white vinegar. Water, vinegar and alcohol. This is a variation of the water and vinegar solution. You can add isopropyl alcohol to make your glass table cleaner dry up faster. Baby shampoo and water. Add one-fourth teaspoon of baby shampoo to a quart of water. Baby shampoo was made not to leave any kind of residue on baby, so it should not leave any streaks on your table top. Some people prefer one brand over the other.
2. Commercial glass cleaners. There are a lot of commercial glass cleaners to choose from. Most of them are made with ammonia. You can make your choice based on the reputation of the brand, ingredients or scent. You can also do trial-and-error tests of different brands to see which one works for you.
So, let's say you've made your choice between homemade and commercial glass cleaning solutions. The next thing you need to know is what fabric to use for wiping your glass table top clean. You have to make sure that the cloth or material you use does not leave lint or fluff on you table. It should also be absorbent for the glass cleaner solution. Your choices are:
1. lint-free cloth (like cheesecloth and linen)
2. newspaper or coffee filters
3. paper towels or disposable wipes (some are included with commercial glass cleaning solutions)
4. microfiber cloth
